Small Robot 48mm Stainless Steel Mecanum Wheel Set 2 Left 2 Right Wheels Model 14209
The 48mm steel mecanum wheel is the smallest in our range of mecanum wheels. This set includes two left-handed and two right-handed wheels. Each wheel
features a compatible brass hub, available in 3mm, 4mm, or 5mm diameter options, allowing you to easily connect your DC motor.
Each wheel is constructed with 8 TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber) rollers, mounted between two durable steel plates. The rollers are positioned at a 45-degree
angle relative to the main axis of the wheel, enabling smooth multidirectional movement.
By equipping your robot with these mecanum wheels, it will be capable of not only moving forward and backward, but also sliding sideways without changing
orientation. All you need to add are your drive motors, control board, and batteries to get started.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the mecanum wheel?
Much easier to climb ramps with Mecanums. To my understanding Mecanums are also more efficient in forward and reverse directions (like a normal wheel) while still giving you lateral mobility. Omni-Drives will give you true omnidirectional motion.
The advantages of the Mecanum wheel and the omnidirectional wheel are flexibility and convenience, and the disadvantage is expensive. The omnidirectional wheel, as the name suggests,
can move in any direction, at any angle, and in any direction. mecanum wheel these rollers having an axis of rotation at 45° to the plane parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel.
